date-fns writes the date on every article of Síntese, the Sapiens blog column published in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The locale is an object you hand over with the date, so the same call writes "29 de outubro de 2025" and "October 29th, 2025" with no global language switch for the whole app. And it never touches the date it received: adding seven days returns a new date and the original stays put, which removes a whole family of bugs. We measured it here: bundled the way our site imports it, what Síntese ships is a little over 5% of the package, because almost nine in ten parts of it are locales.
