ComfyUI turns a generation into a graph you can see: every step is a node (load the model, encode the prompt, start from noise, sample, decode, save) and the wires carry typed data between them. The image it saves carries its own recipe, so dragging the PNG back into the canvas rebuilds the whole graph with seed and settings. It only re-executes what changed, which makes iteration fast, and its weight streaming lets the biggest open models run on as little as 4 GB of VRAM. Everything is also a local API: the graph is JSON, and a script can queue it. We run it on a 16 GB card for stills, where the same graph with a new seed re-ran 3 of its 9 nodes in 15 seconds.
